At Fensterbau Frontale, the systems supplier presented, among other things, the modular accessory system heroal plus, a French door with a level ground threshold, as well as new flush frame profiles and optimised corner connections for casement profiles. In addition, the window systems heroal W 72 and W 77 opened up new areas of application in curtain wall construction, for example for stairwells.
At Fensterbau Frontale,
heroal showcased extensions to its aluminium window system portfolio. The focus was on practical enhancements for fabricators: new accessory solutions, optimised fabrication steps and additional application possibilities for the systems. This provided both existing specialist partners and companies looking to expand their portfolio with flexible solutions for a wide range of construction requirements.
Curtain wall applications using window elements
One of these enhancements demonstrated how the
heroal W 72 and W 77 window systems could be used in a wide range of applications. In addition to conventional window elements, the systems also enabled the fast, simple and safe construction of curtain wall applications, for example for stairwells.

for stairwells quickly, easily and safely. © heroal
Load-bearing coupling profiles were used, allowing the elements to be stacked easily. Thanks to clean profile joints, no additional sealing work was required. Specific applications were defined on the basis of structural calculations.
This gave window manufacturers, in particular those who did not fabricate mullion-transom curtain wall systems, the opportunity to implement curtain wall solutions quickly, easily and safely and to expand their range of services without requiring an additional system platform.
heroal plus: Innovative complete solution for window systems
With
heroal plus,
heroal presented a comprehensive, cross-trade accessory system for the
heroal W 72 and
heroal W 77 window systems. The modular system package facilitated the implementation of high-quality overall solutions and ensured efficient processes in planning, fabrication and installation.
The system included the
heroal VS Z textile screen, the
heroal FPS anti drop device, the
heroal IS insect screen and the
heroal WS windowsill. All components were perfectly coordinated and could be used i

The anti drop device and insect screen could be seamlessly integrated into the
heroal VS Z sun protection system. With wind load class 6 and maximum dimensions of 3,000 x 3,000 mm, the system also met high requirements in terms of stability and weather resistance. With slim sightline widths of just 34 mm for the guide rail and 48 mm including the anti drop device,
heroal plus also impressed with a discreet appearance. Aluminium profiles with matching colours and finishes, as well as concealed fixings, ensured a high-quality look.
For particularly efficient fabrication, the system components were supplied cut to size, while clip-on profiles simplified installation. Fabricators also benefited from using the
heroal box system 125 mm 90° and from the option of sourcing
heroal plus either as a system solution or as a
heroal Ready prefabricated element.
Level ground threshold for comfort and accessibility
To enhance comfort and accessibility,
heroal expanded its window system with the
heroal W 72 UD French door, which featured a level ground threshold. The single-leaf pivoting casement version enabled virtually threshold-free access to the outside and significantly reduced trip hazards.

Reliable sealing was ensured by two magnetic profiles integrated into the frame that were automatically raised during closing to ensure a reliable seal. At the same time, all the technical and design advantages of the
heroal W 72 system were retained, making this solution ideal for demanding specifications.

Flush frame profiles for modern architecture
New flush frame profiles expanded the design possibilities of the
heroal W 72 and
heroal W 77 window systems. They enabled a flush appearance both inside and outside, creating a particularly clean, high-quality design.

that gives windows a modern aesthetic. © heroal
The profiles could be combined with all casement profiles and allowed a consistent, modern appearance for both single-leaf elements and French casement windows. In combination with concealed fittings, particularly discreet interior views could be achieved. At the same time, fabricators could rely on a familiar workflow: processes and accessories corresponded to those used for standard 70 mm frame systems.
New corner connections for greater fabrication efficiency
To further optimise manufacturing processes,
heroal improved the corner connections of the casement profiles for the
heroal W 72 and
heroal W 77 window systems. The new die-cast corner brackets allowed identical profile machining for horizontal and vertical casement profiles, significantly simplifying fabrication.

Chamfered lead-ins on the components, retrofittable stabilising corner angles and an expansion function during pressing or crimping facilitated joining and alignment of the casements. An integrated feedback function also supported reliable bonding during adhesive application. The new stabilising corner angles featured knurled screws or nuts that actively pulled the mitre joint together. Overall, joining time was reduced by up to 35%, while adhesive consumption could be reduced by up to 20%.
Enhanced security and performance features
Further improvements related to key performance characteristics of the
heroal window systems. For example, the sound insulation value of the
heroal W 77 system was increased to 49 dB, achieving a top value on the market even as standard.
Fabricators using the
heroal W 72 system also benefited from additional application possibilities: the
heroal screw-in anchor bracket was successfully tested in accordance with RC2. By including the masonry in the test, this created a holistic security concept that went beyond pure system testing and enabled particularly reliable burglar-resistant system versions.
With these developments,
heroal demonstrated at Fensterbau Frontale how aluminium window systems could be flexibly adapted to a wide range of requirements – from efficient fabrication and architecturally sophisticated solutions to new areas of application, such as curtain walls for stairwells.
